Open Laboratory

As a great novelty, SCIE02 will open to participants a dedicated IE Lab in which it will be possible to access a few new technologies and personally interact with them.

Several activities will be organized ranging from demos of prototypical systems (either at academic or industrial level), to  the set-up of working groups involved into the realization and customization of resources directly at SCIE02 site, to the presentation and description of specific tools  that could be inserted into any core IE system. It reflects our wish to create really an environment in which each participant is stimulated to get involved actively, supported by the lecturers and the infrastructure provided by the programme.

More specific objectives are:

  • to provide participants with a clearer view on the role of specific linguistic information and NLP tools in setting IE applications,
  • to guide them in customizing tools and resources that are publicly accessible on an international scale,
  • to let them aware of new technologies into the field.

The program of foreseen activities at SCIE02 Open Lab  is shown hereafter.
Nevertheless,  any interested participant could submitt a proposal for a new action: Organizing Committee will check for interesting proposals defining modalities for their insertion into the final Lab program, if the case.
